espanolDentro del amplio elenco de visitantes europeos que, atraidos por distintas razones, exploraron las Islas Canarias y dejaron constancia escrita o grafica de su paso por ellas, se encuentran los franceses Joseph Pitard y Louis Proust. En este trabajo se aporta una serie de datos que completan y actualizan el conocimiento que hasta ahora se posee de su «obra canaria», asi como sobre algunos pormenores de sus respectivas biografias y de las visitas que realizaron al Archipielago en los primeros anos del siglo XX. EnglishAmong the many Europeans who, for various reasons, felt attracted towards the Canary Islands and explored them, leaving both a written and graphic record of their visit, are the French Joseph Pitard and Louis Proust. In this paper we expose some relevant data related to these two authors with the purpose of completing and updating the knowledge about their work, their biographies and the visits they made to the Archipelago during the first years of the XXth century.
