ResumoAbstract The crystal structure of N -(3-hydroxypropyl)-hexadecanoic acid amide is monoclinic, P 2 1 / c , with a = 44.56(3) Å, b = 4.930(2) Å, c = 8.977(5) Å, β = 90.08(5)° Z = 4, V = 1972(2) Å 3 . The molecules are packed into tail-to-tail bilayers. There are two different hydrogen bonds, OH … O and NH … O, which form parallel one-dimensional chains along b . The crystal structure is very similar to that of N -(2-hydroxyethyl)-octadecanoic acid amide.
