Resumo1nformation on the impact of the spanish conquest on the native population was obtained after studying archaeological materials and written documents from the Franciscan reducciones settled on the right margin ofthe lower Parana river (1611-1715). Some salient cultural aspects include the transformations in subsistence, technology, settlement and belief systems. From the biological perspective, dental pathologies have been identified in eleven teethfound on skeletal remains from the Santiago del Baradero reduction.
