ResumoMedical control of parkinsonism has resulted in a longer life expectancy and better quality of life for these patients, who are now presenting for surgical treatment of a variety of conditions. In addition to the risks associated with age, these patients are more prone to restrictive pulmonary problems. General anesthesia should be avoided when possible.
