ResumoUEFI is the replacement for an aging (1976) BIOS. It offers considerable advantages over its predecessor in terms of functionality and, possibly, security. However, it is very unlike BIOS, and computer professionals need to become familiar, if not adept, with UEFI. This technology is still relatively new, and definitely in an unfinished form. As with any new technology, there are implementation pitfalls that will be encountered.
