Resumo

Analysis of late preceramic coprolites of llama (Lama glama) of the peruvian coast Abstract Analysis of coprolites of llama (Lama glama) from the Late Preceramic site Los Gavilanes, north-central Peruvian coast, is presented. The pollen spectrum shows the presence of at least 23 taxons and the majority has been identified to level of Family. In two cases it was possible to identify the Genus and in one Genus and Species. The results of those analyses are discussed, making comparisons between the pollen spectrum and the other botanical evidence from the same site. The authors conclude that there are concordance and coherence between the data. An attempt is made to reconstruct the diet of those Camelids in which corn (Zea mays) was certainly a very important component.
