ResumoAgenesis of the corpus callosum (ACC) was first described at autopsy in 1812 (Reil, 1812). The antemortem diagnosis by pneumoencephalography has been made since 1934 (Davidoff and Dyke, 1934). Subsequently, agenesis of the corpus callosum has been identified by computerized tomography (Larsen et al., 1982), magnetic resonance imaging (Davidson et al., 1985; Han et al., 1985), ultrasonography (Hernanz-Schulman et al., 1985), and even prenatal fetal ultrasonography (Sandri et al., 1988; Hilpert and Kurtz, 1990).
