The present communication describes the detection of Ia antigens on unprimed and primed antibody forming precursor cells. Moreover, also suppressor T cells could be eliminated by cytotoxic treatment with anti-Ia serum, whereas, helper cells were negative under identical conditions. No evidence was obtained that stimulation of lymphocytes with either PPD or ConA leads to active secretion of products bearing Ia determinants.
