Resumo

The rex sacrorum celebrates four Agonia a year. March’s and January’s agonia both celebrate the year to come, the one in Romulus’ calendar and the other in Numa’s calendar. During March’s Agonia(Liberalia), young men join the pubes : initially liberi, they become ciues and potentially milites (iuuenes). March’s and May’s Agonia start and close the archaic war-season and they are linked to archaic QRCF’s testamentary comitia. December’s and January’s Agonia respectively commemorate the birth of the agrarian civilization and the birth of the urban civilization.
